Lay's Stax Lay's Stax is a potato chip snack food produced by Frito-Lay and manufactured in Mexico.〔("Pringles vs Stax" ). (September 3, 2008). Retrieved June 3, 2015.〕 It was introduced in 2003 as direct competition for Procter & Gamble's Pringles (currently owned by the Kellogg Company). ==Stax chips compared to Pringles== Stax chips are heavier and thicker than Pringles. The shape of Stax is a simple curve, while Pringles are formed into a double-curve known as a hyperbolic paraboloid. Stax chips have the flavoring spread across the inside curve of the crisp whilst Pringles have them across the outside curve. Stax chips are packaged in plastic packages,〔 (that can carry a sharp edge around the lip, sometimes cutting hands)〔(Further Evidence that the can is sharp )〕 while Pringles are packaged in cans consisting of cardboard and metal.〔www.parliament.uk (Memorandum submitted by Procter & Gamble: Innovative Solutions to Waste Management Problems: The P&G Approach ) Accessed 16 May 2007〕
